More Than a Cosmetology Program

Professional training, industry certifications, and the skills today’s beauty professionals need to succeed.

The International Institute of Cosmetology’s Cosmetology/Hairdressing Program combines comprehensive theory and hands-on training to prepare students for a successful career in the beauty industry. Students learn cutting, coloring, styling, texture services, and today’s most in-demand trends, including balayage, lived-in color, and modern cutting techniques. The program includes a custom curated professional student kit and industry-recognized certifications such as Babe Hair Extensions and Wella Hair Color. Upon completion, graduates are eligible to pursue Connecticut Cosmetology licensure and begin their professional journey with confidence.

See What Our Students Have To Say

I previously graduated from IIC in 2017 from the aesthetics program. I returned to the school because of how well they treat their students and the education I received was amazing.

Shannon M.

Thank You for helping my dreams come true!

Samantha N.

Since starting on my journey to becoming a hair stylist at International Institute of Cosmetology, I have been inspired in ways I never could have imagined.  When you walk into the school, you immediately feel a part of a family.

Evan S.

This experience all together has confirmed that I made an amazing choice for a career. Ms.Rosie was and always will be the best part of it.

Jamina S.

I had an amazing experience at IIC. I've learned so much in such a short period of time and couldn't be happier with Ms.Jessica as my educator.

Sara C.

Ms. Jessica was a great teacher who not only taught us what we needed to know but taught us from her own experiences as a lash technician and business owner. I enjoyed this class and would recommend to others.

FAQs About Our Cosmetology Program

How long does it take to complete the Cosmetology Program?

This 1500-hour program can be completed in as little as one year.

How can I make tuition more affordable?

Financial aid is available to those who qualify. Begin the financial aid process by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). We understand that paying for beauty school is a top concern for students. That’s why we have a financial aid team that will meet with you and walk you through your options. Contact us with any financial aid/tuition questions.

Is there a part-time or evening schedule?

At this time, we only offer a full-time schedule for cosmetology. However, we do have different four-day schedules with different start dates, allowing you to choose the schedule that fits your life.

If you are looking for a beauty program that offers part-time schedules, consider one of our shorter programs or courses, such as applying lash extensions as an eyelash technician, offering manicures or pedicures as a nail technician, or learning to apply makeup as a professional makeup artist from our Makeup Artistry course.

Do you accept homeschooled students?

Homeschooled students may be eligible for enrollment if they meet state law standards, provide a certificate of completion, and have a third party sign a statement verifying completion of homeschooling.

Is cosmetology the same as hairdressing?

In Connecticut, cosmetology and hairdressing are terms used interchangeably. This program can be called “cosmetology” or “hairdressing.” Students focus mostly on hair training, but they also learn a variety of other beauty services, such as nail care, makeup, and skincare.
